Remembering the Faithfulness of God
~2 min read
Today's Question
What has God already carried you through? How might remembering His past faithfulness change the way you face today's uncertainty?
Reflection
Angela shared that one practical way to refocus our hearts is to remember how God has worked in our lives. The Israelites were often told to remember how God brought them out of Egypt, provided manna, and made a way through the Red Sea. They forgot quickly, and I understand that more than I want to admit.
I can be so focused on the next problem that I overlook the ways God has already sustained me. I see what is missing, but I forget the prayers He answered, the people He sent, and the strength He gave me when I thought I had none left.
Remembering is not living in the past. It is building today's trust on yesterday's evidence of God's faithfulness. When we call to mind who He is and what He has done, hope begins to rise again.
Perspectives Into Practice
Perspectives Into Practice — Create a small remembrance list with three ways God has helped, provided, comforted, or guided you. Read the list during a difficult moment today and thank Him for being faithful before you know how the current situation will unfold.
