God Is Present in the Process

~2 min read

Today's Question

Where are you waiting for God to act, and what would it look like to notice His presence there today?

Reflection

In our recent conversation on the podcast, Stephanie shared that her heart stopped on February 18, 2025. She survived 50 minutes of CPR, followed by surgery, intensive care, rehabilitation, and a long recovery. Her healing did not end when she left the hospital. She is still walking through it.

Hand to heart, delayed healing can make us wonder whether God is still near. But Stephanie reminded us that God is not only present in the miracle. He is present in the process, the waiting, and the uncertainty.

Psalm 27:13 says, "I am certain that I will see the Lord's goodness in the land of the living" (CSB). David speaks this while facing trouble, not after everything is resolved. Hope does not require us to pretend the process is easy. It invites us to believe that God's goodness is still with us today.

Perspectives Into Practice

Perspectives Into Practice — Set aside five quiet minutes today. Name the situation you are waiting on, then pray, "Lord, help me recognize where You are present in this process." Write down one small evidence of His care, even if it seems ordinary.

You don't have to understand everything God is doing. Take one surrendered step and trust that He is with you in it.
