Celebrate the Small Steps

~2 min read

Today's Question

What progress have you overlooked because it did not happen as quickly or dramatically as you hoped?

Reflection

I remember hearing Stephanie describe a shower that became a place of worship. In the hospital, she could not shower. In rehabilitation, she needed supervised seated showers. When she finally stood on her own at home and lifted her arms over her head, she realized how far God had brought her.

That moment was not flashy. There was no crowd cheering. But she lifted her arms, not only to wash her hair, but to praise the Lord. Ladies, sometimes healing looks like a quiet ability we once took for granted.

Zechariah 4:10 tells us not to despise "these small beginnings" (NLT). Small does not mean insignificant. God often builds strength, endurance, and gratitude through steady steps that other people may never see. What feels slow to us can still be faithful progress.

Perspectives Into Practice

Perspectives Into Practice — Make a small-progress list today. Write down three things you can do now that were difficult, impossible, or frightening in an earlier season. Thank God for each one.

Then celebrate one person who is taking small steps in their own healing. A text, phone call, or simple word of encouragement can help someone see progress they cannot yet recognize.
