Rest Can Become an Act of Worship

Today's Question
What might God be inviting you to stop, surrender, or receive instead of pushing through today?
Reflection
Here's the thing: rest can feel uncomfortable when we have spent years believing we must keep going. Stephanie described learning to stop because her body requires it, surrender because her soul requires it, and be still because her spirit requires it. These were not easy lessons for someone accustomed to independence.
She also spoke about restorative sleep, gentle movement, deep breathing, and meditation on God's Word. These simple practices became acts of obedience, gratitude, and worship. She was not earning healing through rest. She was making room to receive what God was already giving.
Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still, and know that I am God" (CSB). Stillness is not wasted time. It can help us remember who is holding us when we cannot hold everything together. God is not asking you to carry what He has asked you to surrender.
Perspectives Into Practice
Perspectives Into Practice — Choose one intentional boundary for rest today. Turn off your phone at a set time, take a quiet break, go to bed earlier, or sit with God without trying to solve anything. As you rest, breathe slowly and repeat, "Lord, I receive Your care."
Pay attention to the resistance that rises in you. Bring that honestly to God. He is patient with you as He teaches you a new way to live.
