Peace Is Found One Step Ahead

Today's Question
Where are you trying to get ahead of God by planning several steps beyond today? What would it mean to receive today's grace instead of demanding tomorrow's answers?
Reflection
Brianna openly shared that she is a planner. She can be thinking about tomorrow, next week, or a party happening months from now. I understand that feeling, ladies. Sometimes planning feels like preparation, but sometimes it is my attempt to control what I cannot see.
During her season of change, God taught Brianna to focus on what was directly in front of her. She didn't know how the new job, new home, new church, and new community would come together. She simply learned to walk with Jesus one step at a time.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 6 not to worry about tomorrow because tomorrow will worry about itself. This doesn't mean we ignore responsibilities. It means we stop living in a future God has not yet given us. His grace meets us in the present.
Perspectives Into Practice
Perspectives Into Practice — Make two lists today: "What is mine today" and "What belongs to tomorrow." Put only today's responsibilities on the first list. When your mind races ahead, hand to heart, say, "Jesus, You are already in tomorrow. Help me be faithful here."
