Peace Is Found In The Waiting

~2 min read

Today's Question

Where are you tempted to rush ahead because waiting feels uncomfortable? What would it look like to pray instead of trying to figure everything out today?

Reflection

One of the clearest lessons Dawn described is learning to wait on God. She talked about the discipline of not moving until she sensed His direction. That doesn’t mean she has every answer or that waiting is always easy. It means she no longer wants panic to make decisions for her.

I know how quickly my own mind can run ahead. I can be standing in the kitchen, holding a cup of coffee, and already carrying tomorrow’s problems. But God gives grace for this day. He does not ask me to live every future season before it arrives.

Philippians 4:6-7 gives us a pattern for anxious moments: bring everything to God in prayer and thanksgiving. The peace of God then guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Peace may not change the situation immediately, but it changes how we stand in it.

Perspectives Into Practice

Perspectives Into Practice — When worry rises today, stop and pray before taking action. Tell God exactly what concerns you, then thank Him for one evidence of His faithfulness.

Set a timer for five quiet minutes. Breathe slowly, read the verses, and ask, “Lord, what is mine to do today, and what am I trying to carry before its time?”
