Join & access

Is it really free?
Yes. Your account is completely free — no paid membership tier. You may occasionally see cards that promote features and services inside The Story Haven.
What's the catch?
There isn't a hidden subscription. The Story Haven is operated by Grace Unworthy Ministries as a faith community product. Invite-only access helps us grow thoughtfully and keep the culture safe.
Why invite-only? How long is the wait?
We review waitlist requests manually so the community stays intentional and cared for. Wait times vary; a member's referral link can move you through faster than the general waitlist.
What's the difference between a referral link and an invite email?
A personal referral link attributes waitlist signups to the member who shared it and does not use up email invite tokens. An invite email is the approved path to create your account after you've been welcomed in.
Can I invite friends once I'm in?
Yes. Share your personal referral link anytime — it works even when email invites are paused — or send email invites when they're available. Welcoming others can earn recognition badges.
What happens after I create an account?
Start Here walks you through a welcome, following storytellers, choosing rooms, an optional first God wink, and optional invites — then you enter The Story Haven.
Can men join?
The Story Haven is currently a women's community. A men's community is in the works and planned for release before year's end.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes — iPhone and Android apps are available after your invite is approved. Visit Get the App for store links and install instructions.
Do web and app use the same account?
Yes. The same account and community work on thestoryhaven.net and in the iOS and Android apps — rooms, prayer, Scripture, podcasts, and messages stay with you after your invite is approved.
Are there ads?
You may occasionally see cards that promote features and services inside The Story Haven. There is no paid membership, and we do not sell your stories to advertisers.

Life in the Haven

Who runs The Story Haven?
Grace Unworthy Ministries operates The Story Haven. Jessica DeYoung — founder of Made Whole and host of Perspectives Into Practice — is the public face and founding voice of the community.
What are the rooms?
The Haven is organized into purpose-built spaces instead of one endless feed: The Living Room, Morning Bread, God Winks, Prayer Corner, Campfire Stories, and The Hearth (members-only). Each room has a clear kind of sharing so you know where you belong.
Do I have to do a daily devotion?
No. Morning Bread is one Scripture, one reflection, and one question — optional, with no homework. Share when you want; read quietly when you need to.
How does prayer work here?
Prayer Corner is where you bring requests and celebrate answered prayers. Members can mark that they're praying with you. It's peer faith support — not counseling or crisis care.
What can I share besides text?
You can share photos, video, voice notes (with auto-transcription for readers), links, and attach up to five Bible verses per post. Drafts let you save and finish later.
Is the podcast inside the community?
Yes. A built-in player lets you listen to Perspectives Into Practice (and other enrolled shows) without leaving The Story Haven.
Are there smaller groups?
Yes. Private groups are available for prayer partners, friends, and shared interests — you can discover groups and request to join.
What is The Hearth?
The Hearth is a members-only room for deeper connection and resources. It appears as members-only until you qualify — it is not a separate paid product.
Do I have to post?
No. Many women read, pray, and encourage before they share. You're welcome to participate at your own pace.
Is this just another Facebook group?
No. The Haven is invite-only, organized into purpose-built rooms, centered on Scripture and prayer, and supported by community guidelines, reporting, block/mute tools, and human moderation — not an open social feed.
What denomination is this?
Women from many church backgrounds belong here. The shared center is Jesus and Scripture — not a single denominational label.
What is a Founding Member?
Early joiners receive a Founding Member badge. Other badges recognize welcoming others and participation in community life.

Safety & account

Who can see my posts and prayer requests?
Content is shared within the member community according to the room or group you post in. You control profile visibility, DM settings, and who can tag you. See our Safety page and community policies for details.
What is the minimum age?
Members must be at least 13. Ages 13–17 require parental permission as described in our community policies.
Is this counseling or crisis care?
No. The Story Haven is a peer faith community, not clinical or professional counseling. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. In the U.S., call or text 988 for mental-health crisis support. Crisis resources are also available in-product — see our Safety page.
Can I leave or delete my account?
