Interruptions Become Places Of Growth
~2 min read
Today's Question
How do you usually respond when someone or something interrupts your day? Which fruit of the Spirit does God may be inviting you to practice in that moment?
Reflection
Dawn said that most interruptions at the camp where she works are negative. Plans change. People disappoint us. Problems appear at the wrong time. But she is learning to ask, “God, what are You trying to teach me here, and how do You want me to respond?”
That question shifts the moment. The interruption may still be inconvenient, but it becomes an opportunity to practice what God has been teaching her in private. Patience becomes real when someone is difficult. Self-control becomes real when the schedule falls apart. Kindness becomes real when we feel misunderstood.
Galatians 5:22-23 reminds us that the fruit of the Spirit is formed in us through His work. We do not produce this fruit by pretending we are never frustrated. We grow as we yield our reactions to Jesus in real time.
Perspectives Into Practice
Perspectives Into Practice — Choose one fruit of the Spirit to practice today. Write it where you will see it, such as on your phone or beside your coffee cup.
When an interruption comes, pause for one breath and pray, “Holy Spirit, help me respond like Jesus.” Then take one specific action that reflects that fruit instead of your first reaction.
